ABOUT GEORGE

George Witman serves as President for Black Mountain Oil and Gas, bringing over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.

Prior to joining Black Mountain in 2019, George spent 13 years with EOG Resources, where he held various roles in drilling, completions, and management. He served as Division Completions Manager for the Permian Basin, overseeing 8 frac fleets, managing over 100 employees, and directing a $900 million annual budget. During his tenure, George was recognized as a leader in driving cost reduction, enhancing operational efficiency, and promoting environmental stewardship. He introduced produced-water recycling initiatives and implemented electric frac fleets, significantly advancing sustainability efforts.

In addition to his upstream exploration and production experience, George spent 8 years working with oilfield service companies. He also initiated multiple partnerships between EOG and private equity to establish new, fit-for-purpose service companies.

George holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University.
